USITC Votes to Continue Investigation on Truck and Bus Tires from Thailand

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) today determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of imports of truck and bus tires from Thailand that are allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value. 

Chairman David S. Johanson and Commissioners Rhonda K. Schmidtlein, Jason E. Kearns, and Amy A. Karpel voted in the affirmative. 

As a result of the Commission’s affirmative determination, the U.S. Department of Commerce will continue its investigation of imports of truck and bus tires from Thailand, with its preliminary antidumping duty determination due on or about March 25, 2024.

The Commission’s public report Truck and Bus Tires from Thailand (Inv. No. 731-TA-1658 (Preliminary), USITC Publication 5478, December 2023) will contain the views of the Commission and information developed during the investigation.

Truck and Bus Tires from Thailand

Product Description:  Truck and bus tires are tires having the weight-bearing, size, and design features to specifically fit on truck and bus vehicles that transport goods and passengers at rated speeds over roads or highways. These tires are produced in a variety of types and sizes. Truck and bus tires are principally of tubeless steel belted radial ply designs but may also be of tube or bias ply designs. Tire types and sizes vary with vehicle size and are generally sold by position, as front wheel "steer tires,” drive axle "drive tires," rear "trailer tires," and "all-position" tires.
