In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of services to the EU totaled $230.0 billion, while imports totaled $168.3 billion. This yielded a services trade surplus of $61.7 billion. Exports and imports both increased by 1.3 percent from 2015. Professional services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border exports of services to the EU (28.1 percent), and travel services accounted for the second-largest share (21.7 percent). Travel services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border imports of services from the EU (30.4 percent), and professional services accounted for the second-largest share (24.9 percent).
