In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of distribution services totaled $47.1 billion, while imports totaled $61.2 billion. This yielded a trade deficit of $14.1 billion. Exports were unchanged from 2015, while imports decreased by 2.7 percent. The EU, Japan, and Canada were the largest markets for U.S. cross-border exports of electronic services and the largest suppliers of imports.
