In 2016, U.S. cross-border exports of services to Mexico totaled $31.6 billion, while imports totaled $24.4 billion. This yielded a services trade surplus of $7.1 billion. Exports increased by 1.1 percent from 2015, while imports increased by 7.4 percent. Travel services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border exports of services to Mexico (64.5 percent), and electronic services accounted for the second-largest share (8.4 percent). Professional services accounted for the largest share of U.S. cross-border imports of services from Mexico (75.6 percent), and electronic services accounted for the second-largest share (6.7 percent).
